We are all in the same water!

Marillina Fortuna's works stem from fragments and items released by man and returned to beaches by sea: the 'junk', which she has been collecting, classifying and using for over 15 years without removing nor adding anything. Thus, it becomes 'her' raw material. According to the artist, the exhibition title conveys no consolation, since 'the world we live in, the Earth, has to be taken care of, not to be betrayed nor neglected.' Apparently, this is the overall message encompassing what is represented and making water the excellent protagonist. Water as primary element of life, whose shortage dismays, whose gurgling galvanizes. But also water as sea, ocean, atmospheric and seasonal cycle which regenerates and generates. Water as everything. We are water: men, animals, plants, we are made of water, the most precious good. In the presented works, indictment is combined with a feeling of hope, a constructive reading that takes shape. Looking through serene eyes, seeing through the heart, in order to hear a final, positive message. Because that is where we need to be.
